What this app does

Passthrough uses Apple’s AVFoundation to export selected movie files to MP4. It offers Fast Passthrough, Compatible 1080p, and Efficient HEVC 1080p. The conversion itself happens locally on your device.

Data we collect

None through the app. Passthrough does not collect, sell, or share device identifiers, usage statistics, file names, crash logs, or the contents of your videos.

Passthrough does not send selected movies to a developer-operated server for conversion or storage. The app uses Apple system frameworks for local media export. This policy does not describe the separate network behavior of services you choose through the operating system, such as a cloud-backed Files provider, the system share sheet, or a web browser opened by you.

Files you open

Passthrough reads only movie files you explicitly choose and does not scan your disk, index a media library, or access your photo library.

On Mac, you can choose movie files with the system file picker or drag them into the app, then choose an output folder with the system folder picker. The app accesses those selected locations to complete the conversion.

On iPhone and iPad, you choose movies using the system Files picker. Passthrough receives the items you select; it does not provide a photo library picker or broad access to your Files storage.

Data stored on your device

Passthrough writes conversion-related files to the locations described below. It does not automatically upload them. Cloud-backed folders, file providers, system backups, and sharing destinations follow your system and service settings.

On Mac: completed videos are written to the output folder you choose. During the current app session, the app retains the selected input files and output folder needed to run or show conversion jobs.

On iPhone and iPad: completed videos are written to the app’s Documents/Converted Videos folder. You can use Share or Save to hand a completed file to a destination offered by the system share sheet. Deleting the app removes files kept in its container.

Third parties

Passthrough contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. It uses Apple system frameworks, including AVFoundation, for media export. It does not embed FFmpeg in this release.

Children

Passthrough does not collect data through the app from children or anyone else. If someone contacts support, the contact information and message they choose to send are handled as described below.

Your rights

Files stored by the app are under your control on your device. If you contact support, you may ask about the contact information or message you supplied.

Changes

If a future version of Passthrough ever adds a feature that involves a network connection, this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the change will be described here with a new effective date.

你打开的文件

在 iPhone 和 iPad 上，你通过系统「文件」选择器选择影片。 Passthrough 只接收你选定的项目；它不提供照片图库选择器，也不具备对「文件」存储的广泛访问权限。

存在你设备上的数据

Passthrough 会将转换相关文件写入下述位置，不会自动上传这些文件。云端文件夹、 文件提供商、系统备份及分享目标遵循你设置的系统和服务规则。

在 Mac 上：完成的影片会写入你选择的输出文件夹。当前 App 会话期间， App 会保留已选择的输入文件和输出文件夹，以运行或显示转换任务。

在 iPhone 和 iPad 上：完成的影片写入 App 的 Documents/Converted Videos 文件夹。你可以用「共享或存储」将完成文件交给系统分享表单中提供的目标。删除 App 会移除 其容器中保存的文件。

第三方

Passthrough 不含第三方统计、广告或追踪 SDK。它使用 Apple 系统框架（包括 AVFoundation） 导出媒体；本版本不内嵌 FFmpeg。

儿童隐私

Passthrough 不会通过 App 从儿童或任何其他人收集数据。若有人联系支持， 其主动发送的联系信息和消息会按下述说明处理。

你的权利

App 保存的文件由你在自己的设备上控制。若你联系支持，可就自己提供的联系信息或消息提出询问。

政策变更

如果未来某个版本的 Passthrough 加入了涉及网络连接的功能， 本政策会在该版本发布前更新，并在此处说明变更内容和新的生效日期。
